Foshield
Systemic fungicide based on potassium phosphonate
Foshield is a systemic fungicide based on potassium phosphonate, an inorganic active substance belonging to the phosphonate chemical group.
Potassium phosphonate provides mainly preventive activity. It is metabolised into phosphonic acid, which enhances the synthesis of phytoalexins and stimulates the plant’s natural defence mechanisms, providing an indirect mode of action.
It also has a limited direct effect on the pathogen by interfering with its phosphate metabolism, although its activity is primarily preventive.
